Initially a fun volunteer project for the Connecticut Hurricanes, I would shoot video of the group I used to be a member of. I wanted to show off what was an important part of my life during my high school years. My goal was to showcase the energy, discipline, and identity of the Hurricanes each season. I handled both videography and editing, capturing and assembling footage into thoughtful pieces designed to highlight the team’s performance, culture, and evolution.
Role: Videographer, Editor
Shooting video of a drum corps is no easy task. In most cases it's one and done, then they move on to their next rehearsal chunk. It's here where I really learned how my camera worked. Manual mode became second nature. It had to, otherwise I would miss a shot forever.
These videos would go on to give the group not only a memory to look back on after the season, but it also showed future members the kinds of experiences they would have by joining.
